A new interpretation of of natural loam as a modular chain system.
MODULOAM is a project that explores the changeability of loam and investigates its potential and challenges.
It aims to create a symbiosis of function and aesthetics that presents the material in a more accessible context.
The design is based on a very simple chain mechanism, as known from bicycle chains, for example.
The rolls can be endlessly lined up and combined and it is possible to flexibly set up any number of rolls in any conceivable shape. Like this it is also suitable for use in areas of different heights.
MODULOAM is made exclusively from local, 100% biodegradable materials. A core made of straw reduces the weight of the product and combines with the wooden frame and clay to form a stable roll.
